Fad diets are arguably the most popular forms of diets presently being used. These diets are known for causing fast weightloss and are referred to as fads for they are typically used for short periods of time with exaggerated zeal before abruptly being terminated. Some of the more popular fad diets include Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Richard Simmons, the Cabbage Soup Diet, Body Solutions and the 48 Hour Diet. Although these diets cause weightloss to occur is this what dieters are looking for when beginning a new diet program?
Generally speaking, dieters begin fad diets because they are repulsed by their present level of body fat tissue. If this is the case, then why would anyone begin a diet that will cause weightloss to occur instead of the desired fat loss? The biggest reason has to do with the fact that the average person is ignorant about the true ability of using fad diets. You see, the majority of dieters are at the mercy of the weightloss industry and whatever they say is practically the word of God to these gullible souls.
Typical fad diets cause dieters to lose weight which is a loss of water and muscle tissue with little to no loss of fat tissue. As stated above, the goal of dieting in not weightloss but fat loss which is a loss of pure body fat tissue with little to no loss of water and muscle tissue. This is the curiosity behind the popularity of fad diets. These diets cannot cause fat loss to occur as they were only created to allow weightloss yet dieters continue to use them in record numbers.
There are a few fad diets that cause fat loss to occur such as the Atkins Diet, the Caveman Diet and the Zone Diet. Although these diets enable dieters to attain more than just weightloss they are still considered fads without also incorporating Midtown full body workout classes. The Atkins Diet, the Caveman Diet and the Zone Diet are considered fads not because they do not work like the majority of fad diets but simply because they are used for short periods of time with exaggerated zeal before abruptly being terminated. In other words, the people in our society are not as interested in weightloss as they are in continuing to eat in the manner in which they are accustomed to for if they were 80% of american adults would not be obese.
